CJRO Jazz Salon Series at the Fox: Celebrate Music, Culture & Community
Step into the world of jazz with the CJRO’s weekday Jazz Salon Series—a one-hour musical experience that celebrates culture, storytelling, and connection. Curated by CJRO Artistic Director Drew Zaremba, each salon features some of Colorado’s finest jazz artists in an intimate, engaging setting.
Designed to be accessible and welcoming to all, these sessions offer a unique opportunity for students, adults, and lifelong learners to experience the music and story of jazz in a relaxed, community-centered environment.
Join us for this month’s Jazz Salon featuring acclaimed drummer and percussionist Alejandro Castaño, a dynamic voice in Colorado’s jazz scene and member of the CJRO Latin Jazz Ensemble.
In this intimate one-hour program, Alejandro will sit down with CJRO Artistic Director Drew Zaremba for a lively conversation with live music woven throughout. A first-generation Cuban and Colombian American, Alejandro draws deeply on his heritage, blending the rhythms of Afro-Cuban traditions with the expressive language of modern jazz.
This is a rare opportunity to hear personal stories, cultural insights, and world-class music up close. Whether you’re a longtime jazz enthusiast or simply curious about the rich traditions of Afro-Cuban jazz, this Salon offers a fascinating glimpse into the creative spirit that shapes the music.
